FAKTOR-FAKTOR PERTIMBANGAN PENENTUAN MODA TRANSPORTASI IMPOR BARANG PADA PERUSAHAAN IMPORTIR (Studi pada PT. Takagi Sari Multi Utama dan PT. Metito Indonesia)

Abstract

This study is aimed to identify what factors are considered by management in determining the mode of transportation of imported goods in the importing company and to describe how the process of selecting the mode of transportation of imported goods in the importing company. Type of research used is a study case research with a qualitative approach. This study will analyze and explain what factors are considered by management in determining the mode of transportation of imported goods. Qualitative appoarch was chosen to obtain in-depth data directly from the field with non-numeric data and explain the phenomena that exist in the field. The results showed that the factors considered in determining the mode of transportation of imported goods is urgency/schedule project, heavy of the goods, cubication, the dimensions of the goods, the volume of goods, the total costs, and government regulation. Transportation mode selection process begins from the purchase request from the division in the company, then the management will determine the best mode of transportation that are used according to thats factors consideration.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor apa saja yang dipertimbangkan oleh manajemen dalam penentuan moda transportasi impor barang pada perusahaan importir serta untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses pemilihan moda transportasi impor barang pada perusahaan importir. Jenis penelitian yang digunakaan yaitu penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini akan mengalisis dan menjelaskan faktor-faktor apa saja yang menjadi pertimbangan untuk menentukan moda transportasi impor barang. Pendekatan kualitatif dipilih untuk mendapatkan data yang mendalam langsung dari lapangan berupa data non numerik serta menjelaskan fenomena yang ada di lapangan. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang dipertimbangkan dalam penetuan moda transportasi impor barang ialah urgensitas/schedule project, berat barang, kubikasi, dimensi barang, volume barang, biaya total serta peraturan pemerintah. Proses pemilihan moda transportasi diawali dari permintaan pembelian oleh divisi terkait dalam perusahaan kemudian pihak manajemen akan menentukan moda transportasi yang akan digunakan berdasarkan dengan faktor-faktor pertimbangan tersebut.
